Ted is a Certified Industrial Hygienist with a PhD in Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences, and is a tenured Associate Professor at an Illinois university.
Ted was the corporate head of Safety and Industrial Hygiene for Commonwealth Edison, with safety and industrial hygiene responsibility for 18,000 employees. He developed and implemented many safety and hazard control programs across the company.
He teaches courses on safety and chemical hazards, hazard control methods, and EHS management. (Note: consulting services are separate from Dr. Hogan’s university employment)
Ted is a former member of the ACGIH Threshold Limit Values Committee that develops workplace chemical exposure guidelines. He’s held local and national IH association leadership positions.
Ted has written book chapters for multiple editions of the National Safety Council’s "Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene", including the latest 7th edition.
He was named 2019 Faculty of the Year for his effective teaching skills by colleagues in the Engineering College.
